Computational Materials Science

Nano Sciences or most commonly known as “Nanotechnology”, is a science that allows you to build things on the scale of molecules. You can build systems with artificial intelligence, small motors, machinery, or even a computer system. With Nanotechnology, you are able to put together the essential building blocks of nature easily, cost effectively, and in ways permitted by the laws of physics.

The scientists at CRL India, understand Nanotechnology as physical a phenomenon that occurs at nano scale, and are continuously applying this understanding to practice while building innovative solutions, new ways of systems design; especially for small systems. We work on Lattice Boltzmann Methods (LBM) for numerical simulations, or to address problems various essential fields like fluid dynamics and irregular geometries. We are also working on integrating LBM with solutions from Life Sciences; studies that can impact industries like Agriculture and Drug Delivery.

We are also using Electromagnetics, and Materials and Multi-scale simulations to design materials with tailor made properties and to design large power equipments like generators and transformers. We are also working on developing applications that require enhanced heat extraction with low fluid rates. With our High Performance Computing facility working as a backbone to our application development, CRL India promises to address larger problems that the available computational setups can support.

Nanotechnology will serve as the essential building blocks, if we are to continue the revolution in computer hardware beyond the next decade, and will also let us fabricate an entire new generation of products that are cleaner, stronger, lighter, and more precise. It promises us an enormous amount of computing power and resources on a very small footprint.
